What separates the social classes? Simple: knowledge! The knowledge the upper classes have gained and passed to its descendants is protected from the lower classes by classifying such knowledge as Occult, Evil or Malicious. The masters of the upper classes know that by obscuring knowledge in myth, mysticism and religion, the majority of the population of the lower classes will never rise about their station in society.
